THE
ECONOMICS TIMES SOUTHERN Online Bio Technologies (SBT) has tied up with the International Crops Research Institute for Semi Arid Tropics (Icrisat) for providing technical assistance to fanners in pongamia or jetropha plantations. SBT will utilise the seeds for bio-diesel production at its proposed 3O-tonne per day capacity bio-diesel plant in Nalgonda district of Andhra Pradesh. The managing director of SBT, Mr N Satish Kumar, said that construction works on the Rs 15-crore project are expected to commence by mid-July this year. Commercial activities are expected to begin from April 2005, according to a press release. |
